Why people love this men’s waffle pique robe
- It dries fast. That’s because the waffle texture adds surface area, so it pulls water away quickly after a shower.
- It’s light enough for summer. At 220 GSM, it’s much lighter than a terry robe. Therefore, it’s comfortable year-round.
- It feels less clingy. Because of the raised squares, the fabric sits lightly on damp skin.
- It’s spa-grade. Similarly, it’s the robe style you’ll find in many hotels and day spas.
- It packs small. Also, it folds flat, so it’s easy to take on trips or to the gym.
- It gets softer. In fact, the waffle pique relaxes a little more with every wash.
Which color is right for you?
White or Cream
Above all, it’s the bright, spa-hotel look. Cream, on the other hand, is a little warmer on the eye.
Grey, Light Grey or Black
Easy to live with, because these shades forgive everyday wear.
Navy Blue or Blue
Classic and calm. Meanwhile, blue is the brighter, fresher option.
Dark Green
Finally, it’s deep and a little unexpected. It’s also a good gift for someone who has everything.

What makes waffle pique different?
To begin with, waffle pique is a flat weave with small raised squares, like a waffle. Also, those squares trap a little air, so the fabric feels warm but never heavy. At the same time, they add surface area, so the robe absorbs water well and dries quickly. Because we use long-staple Turkish cotton, the men’s waffle pique robe stays soft and resists pilling. Care
- First, machine wash warm with similar colors.
- Tumble dry low. Then take it out while it’s still slightly warm for the softest feel.
- Don’t use bleach or fabric softener. Softener coats the fibers and makes them less absorbent.
- Finally, wash it once or twice before the first use to reach full softness.
Questions we get asked
What does 220 GSM mean?
In short, GSM is grams per square meter, a measure of fabric density. At 220 GSM this robe is light and airy. So it’s ideal for warm climates, travel and quick changes.
Is waffle as absorbent as terry?
In comparison, it absorbs a little less water at once. However, it dries much faster, so it never stays damp on a hook.
Will the color fade?
First, we dye the cotton for lasting color. Still, wash it with similar colors and skip bleach to keep it bright.

I bought this for slow mornings and winding down at night, and it’s become one of those things I reach for without thinking. It feels good, looks put-together, and makes relaxing at home a little nicer.

Bought the size L/XL for my husband who is 6’3″, slim athletic built. It’s a really great fit, he loves it. He has a couple other robes and says this one is his favourite. I’ve ordered him a second one to keep at our cabin. It’s lightweight, which he really likes as he’s always too hot in the terry cloth robes. The fabric is good quality, I have a waffle weave robe that is a very loose, poor quality knit, and was happy to see this is a dense, high quality weave. This is also a really excellent price point, especially for the quality. I highly recommend it.

Great warm-weather bathrobe. The waffle fabric has some body, and the texture makes it stand off from your skin so it’s great for warmer weather. (I’d describe the fabric as medium-weight. Sturdy.) Super absorbent so great for out of the shower. Some reviews say the fabric is scratchy: that’s a function of the waffle weave. Don’t expect it to feel like a super-smooth rayon-spandex blend. I do expect it to soften some over time with washing, but I’m not banking on it. I don’t mind the texture. (I like bath towels made from this weave.)
I’m a tall woman (height and weight of average man) and the XL-XXL size works well for me, so I’d say the sizing runs smaller than other brands. The hem hits at mid-calf (exactly as I hoped), I roll the sleeves up a little (sleeve length is generous), and there is plenty of overlap in the front of the robe (but not excessive—it doesn’t go around me twice or anything close).
So, probably not for the big-and-talls out there but I’m very happy with it. Read the size chart carefully, and size up.
