Why Turkish cotton?
Turkish cotton has extra-long fibers, so the yarn is smoother and stronger and the loops fray less over years of washing. Compared with Egyptian cotton, it holds a little less water per gram but dries much faster, which is why hotels and spas prefer it: a towel that stays fresh between uses. Care
- First, wash the towels before use to remove loose fibers and open the loops.
- Then machine wash warm with like colors and tumble dry low.
- Skip bleach and fabric softener, because softener coats the fibers and reduces absorbency.
Questions we get asked
What does 550 GSM mean?
GSM is grams per square meter — the density of the terry. 300–400 GSM is a light, quick-dry towel; 500–600 GSM is hotel and spa weight: plush, absorbent and still practical to dry at home. So this towel is 550 GSM, while the bath mat is 900.
Will the color fade?
We dye the yarn before weaving, and the pattern comes from the loom rather than a print. So if you wash with like colors and avoid bleach, the color stays true wash after wash.

I’ve had these towels for almost a year. They are my favorite! Super thick and fluffy, very absorbent, very big, do not bleed when washed, have not gotten little pill balls, do not shed or leave lint residue on skin (ew!) I’d never had towels that left linty residue on my skin until I got some towels from Target. Dry your face? Get black linty stuff stuck all over it. Anyway, I digress… the Bagno Milano towel loop is a bonus for hanging. I really like the Interesting pattern (reversed on the other side) – that’s something I was looking for instead of just a blank towel or a towel with ridges. The price is fair for the quality. The dark gray is a true charcoal.

I washed these towels in the vinegar wash first, followed by a normal wash. Had a decent amount of lint in the filter, but that was expected. The towels are nice, but I do not find them to be overly soft. I tried to find a towel that would dry fast and get as soft as I could. These towels do absorb water off of your skin very well, and dry fast, but if you expect that hotel softness, these are not it. You would have to really go up in thread count to get that. Good towel for what I wanted, but a bit softer would have been nicer. But on the other hand, the softer you go, the longer it takes for the towel to dry. I reuse my bath towel a few times as I just dry myself off. Overall, a good towel for what it is, just do not expect your reaction to be that the towel is a nice soft towel. Not that it is sandpaper rough, but I would not call it soft plush. Just a normal thinner towel with good absorbability, and quick drying.
